There is no repeatable evidence for its survival when the body is annihilated, eg by rotting or burning. In the event of cryopreservation of the body (which includes the brain) this program and data is preserved. If technology develops sufficiently, it can be recovered provided enough information remains for such recovery. If there is some situation, which we have been unable to detect in a repeatable and reliable manner, where this program and data are uploaded elsewhere on cessation of function of the brain such cessation occurs whether cryopreservation or rotting or burning is applied. Any advanced technology that is being used by a god, demi-god, easter bunny, father christmas, alien beings on another planet or solar system or galaxy or even an alternative universe etc to provide such uploading is unlikely to be thwarted by the simple act of cryopreservation. -- Sincerely, * Longevity Report: http://www.longevb.demon.co.uk/lr.htm John de Rivaz * Fractal Report: http://www.longevb.demon.co.uk/fr.htm **************** Homepage:http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/JohndeR In the information age, sharing can increase world wealth enormously, because giving information does not decrease your information.
