Subject: Canadian Cryonics Dinner and Video Night

On Sunday evening, January 24, 1999 there will be a VERY INFORMAL
dinner at AIDA'S FALAFEL RESTAURANT, just east of Bathurst on Bloor Street
in Toronto, Canada. This is a chance for people interested in all forms
of Life Extension (including Cryonics) to get-together and discuss their
views and experiences.

Tables are reserved under the name Ben Best, and people are invited
to arrive beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is no formal presentation or start
time. Very inexpensive vegetarian dishes can be ordered at the counter and
brought to the table (cafeteria-style). Or, people can simply buy a
glass of juice and join in the discussion.

Research spending on cryonics-related projects at 21st Century
Medicine has now reached $2 million per year. Video tapes were made of
research breakthroughs presented in Seminars by 21st Century scientists on
November 8th. Those interested can see some of these videos in the
apartment of Paul Wakfer, which is near AIDA's. We will go over to Paul's
at around 8 pm. Topics of the videos include new vitrification solutions,
ice-blockers, liquid ventilation, prevention of ischemic injury, a panel
discussion of the prospects of suspended animation and views of the
research facilities.

Paul Wakfer is also involved in another research project taking place
at a Southern California University: the cryopreservation of the
hippocampus (the region of the brain involved in learning), and he will be
able to share new information on that project.

This is a non-smoking event. Bring your friends!
