Hope you didnt feel time was wasted afterwards. I use to hear the funny end in Cartalk "you have wasted another hour.....". At least you got a laugh at first, polite fun prolongs life. Restrain the "English maven", guess its a lot of faults in this one. I have a good memory, no senility so far. I leave the guns out of this too for the moment since its hard to judge from here whats the best there, just wonder. And who am I over here to tell you, its a bit far out to do anything but wonder. Its often better to set examples and ask the right questions than tell people what to do, to get brains ticking. To get any answer I made prioritys without being to specific, scientific or academic. Finding what I search may benefit many others. A Russian suggested a Cryofarm etc. Thats something else. After finding a place, I search the specifics and compare, probably have to compromise anyway, dont expect to find anything perfect. I have met very objective honesty in reports and mails from the councils as seem to have no will to keep anything secret. Then I will rent, and then buy a used house. The next step is probably to build a new house, since its hard to find an old one as I like it, or can be rebuilt in that fashion. For the complainers: This hasnt perhaps much to do detailed in CryoNet, but I was asked here to be answered. The finetuning in language is harder to get right from here in evaluations. I know you are happy in the Bay area. Their homepages tells me of severe earhtquakerisks with thousands of homes demolished, also water and airproblems now. Over here I only have Cryonics far away, Ice and snow, the rest is good. Thats why many up here travel to southern Europe as is warm and almost as good as here. 1) What qualifies as "fresh" air? Not worse than here. Use the nose if not a smoker. 2) What qualifies as "fresh" water? Almost as good or better than here. Tapwater, no housefilter. No bottlebuy. 3) What qualifies as a "large" hospital? One as doesnt lack any costly modern equipment as smaller ones can do. 4) What qualifies as "near" the large hospital? Within the golden hour to drive. 5) What qualifies as a "large" town? One as doesnt lack what I need as is the normal stuff, small places can lack. 6) What qualifies as "near" the large town? A suburban within some 10 miles from town as I have it here. 7) What qualifies as a disaster? Qakes, floodings, long outages, hurricanes and tornados etc. as we never have here. 8) What qualifies as "warm"? No snow and ice is above 32F, warm are roughly 50-80F=our summers here. 9) What qualifies as "not hot"? Above that its getting hot, at least in the sun. Who likes 100F? 10) What qualifies as "near" a cryonics perfusion facility? As Alcor written, within a few hundred miles. I'm trying to sell the Cryonics ideas over here, just started my first simple homemade homepage the other night. Included in that may have to be a new place to live, and it better be good compared with living in EU. Otherwise we will sign up in US with the goal to get something over here as soon as possible. We oldies and goldies in primetime with a lot of comfort, dont like to sacrifice to much to long. 100 years ago 1 million Swedes moved to US, later some 50% of us had the dream in the genes. For pragmatism I've snooped around present perfusionplaces. Michigan seem to be like here. Cant find a place in California near my limits as have no quakerisks. Even if my house is secure I'm not always at home and the infrastructure will take a hit. The Phoenix-area is a bit hot and suffers airpollution, no wonder when over 90% drive to work, here its 50%. Tucson is cooler, have better air as are getting worse with immigration, and are getting a waterproblem. Las Vegas have better air and water so far but a lot of immigration. Only they warn of the AHB African Honey Bees "killer bees" with a lot of advice, and of other lethal animals. But those are also in Arizona. Perhaps even in CA. This may seem a bit fuzzy, but I intend to get kiddies as cant be so careful. Soon my dear I will start comparing ppm's etc. as are harder to find, perhaps its not much worse than here, or even better, probably not better. Not being poor yet I will not go into debate of the schooling systems as are free here, your complicated legal system with no lawbook as we have here etc. No ice and snow, near a Cryonicsplace evens out some. I bet I will stay in US when I fly over. Can always go back if it goes sour. At my age with much more to do I have no time for bad judgement in location of residence. Internet and mailing beats traveling-inspection as will come later. It takes more time to answer than write a posting for sure, dont feel wasted yet. Got to sleep soon, 4:44AM now.
