Subject: life insurance and a refund??

I'm new to this so two quick questions... I keep seeing people saying
that life insurance isn't the way to invest, but if I don't have the
money to be frozen now, then isn't the $300/mnth I spend in the short
term the answer? I'm not investing, I'm gambling that if I die now the
insurance co. will get me frozen. Investments for future capital are a
totally different enterprise. Please, correct me if I'm mistaken as
I've recently initiated a life insurance policy with the intent to
transfer it to Alcor or whichever group I decide upon.
My second question, which I haven't seen any reference to... What
happens to my investment to be frozen if "they" discover the key to
immortality while I'm still alive. I don't suppose there is a clause to
that? "oh, by the way, the cash you wrote over to us... the 200k. We
won't be needing it because you're gonna live forever." I don't mind
writing over a premium as an investment in my immortality. I am
doubting that I can risk its promise in the near future. My problem is
that I'll toss my cash into the ring and end up a winner before I get to
cash in on that life ins. Okay, maybe thats asking too much, but just
the same... I'd like to spend it on me or "reviving" those people that I
haven't had the opportunity to ask if they'd like to be revived...
(fortunately, I only know one person who that might apply to.)
Oh, and by the way, he's dead. Didn't have a chance to ask him. Never
occured to me. I was 16. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
If he's ticked off I'll help him hold the knife. I, honestly, am amazed
at the question of if we should raise those that have already died.
Think about how you feel... If afterwards there is a question it isn't
all that difficult... Life is all too delicate a thing after all.
p.s. all the theoretical questions about life and whom we should revive,
just because people (like myself as a mechanical engineer) don't totally
follow the mathematics doesn't mean it doesn't belong on this page. I'm
truly sorry we lose people that are obviously vital to the discussion
because of it, but these are valid discussions for what I believe this
group is about. How and why aside, its about immortality. No?
Long life, barring accidents and escapades,
Eric
