X-Message-Number: 11618 From: Date: Sun, 25 Apr 1999 21:58:04 EDT Subject: publishing cryonet postings elsewhere John Bull, editor of THE IMMORTALIST, sometimes reprints Cryonet postings, after satisfying himself that the writer doesn't object. We would also like occasionally to publish postings, or excerpts, on our web site. Of course the postings are public in any case, and any legal problem is very unlikely, unless the writer claims copyright, and in most cases not even then. In many cases it is also clear from the writer's history, or/and the nature of the posting, that there is no objection to dissemination. But a few writers do object to dissemination without their direct knowledge and consent, and naturally we want to keep everything amicable. In order to save time and trouble, then, I am asking all posters--especially frequent posters--to send me an email saying either that they never object, or they always object, or they want to set conditions. This is a bit of an imposition on your time, but I think justified by the long run saving of time and the wider visibility of your contributions. Thank you.
