Date: Sun, 9 May 1999 01:11:30 +0100 "Living abroad? ...and thinking of seeking help in dying in Holland? No Dutch doctor or institute will ever perform euthanasia or supply deathly medications to visitors, no matter how serious their conditions might be, no matter how urgently they begg. For doctors, euthanasia or assisting in suicide is the last thing they want to do, if at all. Only when they have a long relationship with the patient, and are involved in the entire process of illness and dying, they might want to consider euthanasia. Also, only then can they claim the defence of necessity, and can walk free of charges when all guidelines are met. So both form a personal as well as from juridical point of view, they will never even think of euthanasia or assisted suicide when visitors come and ask."
