Subject: Stop uploading and get a life, to Kennita Watson

In regards to the discussion of whether uploading will work or not,
Kennita suggests it is premature to dwell on this and we should enjoy what
life has to offer now. She says:

>> Otherwise, isn't going out to enjoy sky, trees, water, good food,
"kittens and rainbows", sex, soccer, video arcades, or whatever a better
use of the life you have than beating your head against these
philosophical walls? To steal from "Armageddon" -- "I hope so, or what
are we trying to save?"

Love life now, Kennita< >>

I have been following and contributing to the uploading discussion and
also agree with Kennita. Its best to try for a well balanced life. For
me, uploading philosophy is a minor part of life, a part from which I find
pleasure. It was this type of "how many angels on a pin head" dialogue
that first got me interested in cryonics. If I had "enjoyed life" at the

exclusion of contemplating identity survival I would still have looked at

cryonicists as fanatics who were desparately clinging to a fantasy. I
have found that pushing the philosophy envelope as hard as you can often
times

leads to the discovery of precious jewels that are applicable to everyday

life. "Kittens and rainbows" are just as important, however, and should
be indulged in!
