An excellent idea! Thanks to your suggestion, I've started reading the Sagan book. Here's my suggestion for another volume to add to the list: The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0684832402 Published in 1974, Prof. Becker won the Pulitzer Prize for this book. He shows how the terror of death leads to denial on a vast basis. While he doesn't cover cryonics itself, he does show how people fool themselves into thinking they don't have to worry about their own deaths. A fantastic book - one of the best I've read in recent years. ============================================================== Richard Gillmann http://www.nwlink.com/~rxg Issaquah, WA (USA) ============================================================== Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=11928
