Hirsch" <> Subject: Swiss banks July 21, 1999 Swiss banks may provide an answer to a very practical question often asked by cryonicists: What will I do for money when I am reanimated? A bank account in Switzerland may be all that is needed. Interest rates are low, but the banking institutions and the Swiss currency are the most stable in the world. Currently if you convert your money to Swiss francs, there is no escheatment on dormant accounts. The Swiss government won't seize the funds no matter how long they remain on deposit. There are now discussions going on in Switzerland about the passage of a new act regarding escheatment for dormant assets, but the concerned groups still do not agree about the conditions. My guess is that nothing will come of it. If I get more information, I will post it on the cryonet. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Henry R.
