Subject: targeting the big-rich

John Grigg asks about targeting the big-rich as cryonics contributors.

This has been discussed many times, and the bottom line is that--in the
estimation of everyone I know--they are very poor prospects.

We realize that a large potential payoff can make a long-shot still worth
while (some people view cryonics itself this way), but my experience with
big-rich or influential people--a couple of whom sought ME out!--has not been
encouraging, and I will not spend my time in this way without some unusually
promising advance indications.

I know, past is not necessarily a reliable guide. Conditions change and
people change. But I still see no reason to expect that a personal approach
to big-rich individuals would justify its cost.
