Overall, it appears we do agree that (1) the dying should be frozen now,
using the best methods that circumstances permit, and (2) research by
cryonicists for cryonics-related purposes should continue. This is something
at least to be glad over! But there is something that still puzzles me in
George Smith's posting (#12302): "Personally I think it is wonderful that
the quantum computer (nano-computer) breakthrough has happened." Now it
seems, George, you are equating the nano-computer with the quantum computer
and saying THE breakthrough for it (them) has happened. I have followed
reports on both for some time now and it's clear that progress is being made
(I wouldn't just equate the two types of computers however, though it is
clear there are connections and one might turn out to be the other, when all
is said and done.) But I don't get the impression yet of any "big
breakthrough"--could you cite some references?
