Linus Pauling's original research (as published in "Vitamin C and Cancer" by Pauling and Cameron) to my knowledge was never honestly duplicated to date. Still waiting. When I had the pleasure to hear Pauling speak in 1982 at the University of Washington, he pointed out how the panther, which weighs close to what an average human being weighs, generates internally approximately 10,000 mg of vitamin C every day, whereas human beings create zero. Been taking about that dose ever since. Stopped having multiple colds and influenza attacks each winter since then too. Made sense to me then. Still does now.
