X-Message-Number: 1235 Date: Sat, 26 Sep 92 20:34:04 -0500 From: (Steve Jackson) Subject: Alcor Wallet Card I have grouched a couple of times that the wallet card is not sufficiently "loud" - neither what it says on the outside, or the way in which it is presented, seem sufficiently likely to grab the attention of (for instance) law enforcement and emergency room personnel. That card could be the whole lifeline for the member carrying it. Keith Henson suggested that I post to this list and ask for comments and suggestions. So: May we have comments and suggestions, please? Changing subjects utterly, I think Steve Harris makes some excellent points in #1233, regarding splitting the functions of Alcor. There may be a shortage of committed administrative personnel at the moment, but that makes the idea no less worthy of consideration for the long term. Note also that each function, except perhaps cheerleading, could just as well be filled by several competitors. And if each organization has several choices for the firm(s) it does business with, up and down the line, that gives the potential of constant watchdogging of quality of service, with no conflict of interest.
