Re: Survivors - I don't think any of my family would look askance at or have difficulty accepting the idea of longer life for me. In fact, my children [ages 18 and under] are actually more receptive to the concepts than most adults I know. The point is there is a great deal of pre-conception, misconception, cultural and religous bias [masking fear] on the topic of death, finality, corpses, etc. Those wishing to advance the possibilities of cryonic based life extension need to address those issues as well as the interesting question of how many nanotech replicators can balance on the head of a pin. The posting regarding desired cryo-suspension gone awry is a perfect example of why this is a necessity. Although no true loved one wishes your life to be shorter than necessary the decision to cryo-preserve your body has emotional, personal [not only financial] implications to them as well as you. Even though we may be floating in liquid nitrogen we do not exist in a vacuum. Marty Kardon (e-mail) Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=12798
