Date: Mon, 29 Nov 1999 10:10:02 PST Hello everyone, Artificial intelligences and clones are getting involved in my college's student body elections! Yes, and flyers were put up all over campus to get the word out and I have them to show you! At least for me this site loads slowly but is worth the wait. I hope this alleviates a little the current mood on the list. www.homestead.com/uaa_clones I am saddened to see conflict on cryonet. I realize George Smith made a rather sweeping statement but I admire his desire and enthusiasm to help people and perhaps even save their lives by getting them signed up. While at the same time Charles Platt has done so much to advance the cause of cryonics by trying to both strengthen it from within and without. Charles has a strong desire to be realistic about things even if it is hard to think that way. Obviously there must be much more research done though not to the detriment of funding suspensions and basic operations for the organizations. As officers in their organizations both George and Charles know far more then I do about such things. I will say this much. If I were very old or there was no hope for further breakthrough research I would still want to be suspended but at the same time be very much lacking in hope for things to work. But I am still young and things are looking brighter for the next two decades in terms of R&D. When I am more financially able and out of school I will look forward to investing some money in 21CM or a cryonics only research spinoff. Even if it is a fairly small amount it will feel good to make a contribution that will help to better our collective chances. best regards from Alaska, John Grigg ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=12874
