X-Message-Number: 12961 From: Date: Sat, 18 Dec 1999 10:10:05 EST Subject: crimeshirt Eugene Leitl (#12958) reports on the "lifeshirt," which may soon monitor a person's vital signs and immediately radio them to a remote storage site. Similarly--if perhaps not so soon--there will be "crimeshirts" or just plain "information shirts"--and houses and cars--that will automatically send and record a continuing record of everything seen or heard (and eventually even smelled) in your vicinity. This will make violent crime much harder, and low-tech crime virtually impossible because of the certainty of leaving clues. (In England, one or two towns have already gotten good results, as I recall, with cameras in public places.)
