I have been given to understand that there may be a direct coorelation
between the increased incidence of heart disease in general to the
introduction of refined sugar in the diet of that culture.

I would not suggest that if this is true it would be the only cause, of
course, but I find it rather amazing that refined sugar seems to be added to
just about everything in my culture - including canned BEEF BROTH!  (I guess
heroin is illegal as an additive or that would be in everything too).

I was wondering if there have been any studies relating homocysteine blood
levels and refined sugar consumption.

Any comments?  My apologies if this has already been dealt with here.
