In my own opinion, John de Rivaz latches on to the expense of medicine in the US too much. No one is REQUIRED to consult a doctor before they die. I am not assuming that you go to the US and get treated there for your condition (something which very likely would involve lots of expenses). No, the idea is that you go to the US simply to die there and be suspended. Obviously a cooperating doctor would be good to have, but the same is true for cryonicists in the US (and a fully cooperative doctor will be much easier to find there --- though in Australia we do have one). I will add that essentially this has already happened to one resident of Australia. He was gravely ill when his wife organized his trip to the US. Basically he took a hotel room near the location of a cryonics team prepared to freeze him and waited. He did not wait for a long time, nor did he ask for or buy any special treatments. Best wishes and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=13649
