Subject: 45 million year old trees get the chop

A team of U.S. researchers is currently "investigating"
a 45 million year old buried forest on Axel Heiberg island
in the Canadian Arctic. Last year these Americans had
became rather unpopular when they started to use chain
saws on the buried tree stumps. That's right - chain saws.
These are not fossilized trees remains, but instead they
are mummified wooden tree stumps.
Makes one think about how fleeting life can be, among
other things.
