X-Message-Number: 13790 From: Date: Fri, 26 May 2000 12:17:05 EDT Subject: relatives' rights, government Gurvinder Bagga (#13785) asked about rights of relatives of patients to compel an organization to attempt to revive a patient, and government involvement. Under present U.S. law, almost anybody can sue almost anybody else for almost anything, but winning will depend on the merits of the case and applicable law at the time. Actually, it's irrelevant. You either trust your cryonics organization (and, hopefully, take active part) or you opt out. As for government involvement and new laws, anything can happen. Again, you pay your money, take your chances, and stay involved if possible.
