X-Message-Number: 140 From: Kevin Q. Brown Subject: Mizar Progress Date: 9 Nov 1989 In the Oct. 1989 issue of "Mizar - the Biostasis Letter" editor Luigi Warren reports on the considerable progress Mizar has recently made. This progress is almost entirely due to the efforts of Alan Sinclair, who has purchased a 2400 sq. ft. industrial unit that will house "a 21' x 23' Operating Room, offices, sleeping quarters, a shower and a kitchen, masses of storage space, and a vehicle bay fronted by roll-up doors. [...] Alan has already ordered all the equipment necessary to perform a cryonic suspension from ALCOR. He's also purchased an ambulance and has contracted for the construction of an air shipment container for transferring patients to the USA" and has purchased a FAX machine. Warren reports that Saul Kent visited Mizar last July (while the new facility was under construction) and "has tentative plans to hold a cryonics conference in the UK next September." Once the people at Mizar get training (perhaps starting late this year, depending on availability of ALCOR's Mike Darwin) they may be in a very good position to offer quality cryonics services to members in the UK (and Europe).
