X-Message-Number: 14081 From: Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 11:17:58 EDT Subject: funerals Dr. Hirsch had a question about funerals for cryonics patients. There have been a few religious memorial gatherings or ceremonies for cryonics patients, of which I am aware, and a few other non-religious ones. These were at locations other than the cryonics facility, although there may have been one ceremony at the Trans Time facility, I seem to recall. We also get occasional visits to the CI facility by relatives or friends of patients. When Mae was frozen, her family in Michigan had a memorial gathering, sharing remembrances and so on,with photos and videos. Some of us have little penchant for gatherings or ceremonies, but for some people--and for public perceptions--they could be helpful. It has also been suggested--and I think at least partially implemented--that we could occasionally, or periodically, have general gatherings of relatives of patients.
