Subject: awareness and memories

Hi everyone!

For Dave Pizer: we need both awareness and memories. The difference is
that recreating awareness may be simple, while (at least now) recovering
memories does not look simple at all. Remember that I suggested that in
our lower brain there may be a center which handles the lower-order part
of awareness; but in doing so it still needs the cerebrum to work on...
and that's where the memories are. Memories without awareness, in short,
may be easy to fix by providing the brain areas involved with awareness,
while awareness without memory goes nowhere.

For that matter, we'll need a body, too, but no one would claim that
if we survive (unconscious) as a head alone that providing the body will
prove harder than making the brain survive.

Best and long long life to all,
