Subject: PERIASTRON'S not on Web

Hi everyone!

Thanks to Paul Wakfer with his summary of the immediate needs of INC.

Someone on Cryonet has also asked how to contact the Web site of
PERIASTRON. PERIASTRON presently has no Web site, although you can
see PART of it, not the whole of it, at the ACS Website. Many may
reasonably ask why PERIASTRON isn't on the net. The answer is simple:
it costs money to put it together (the money is to get the papers
I discuss, plus other papers I decide not to discuss). I subscribe
to only a small number of scientific journals compared to the total
number I need to write the news articles in every issue of PERIASTRON,
and usually the main expository article too. Both subscriptions and copies
of articles are not cheap.

This means, among other things, that if and when I do set up a net
location for PERIASTRON, you're unlikely to be able to access it
for free.

Best and long long life to all,

			Thomas Donaldson
