For legal reasons, the suspension team can't administer the sedatives before legal death. They do administer them after legal death, though. Maybe the attending physician could administer them at a lower dose before legal death? I have heard of people asking to be sedated before death so they wouldn't have to deal with the pain, so there is a precedent. Has this been tried? Cryonics magazine has discussed other useful pre-death medications such as heavy vitamin E supplementation; maybe sedatives should be on this list. (Don't try this at home, folks!)
