Subject: CRYONICS: Millenium Party

To all cryonicists...

Sitting back and watching the sunset on the last day of 1992 focuses
ones mind beautifully on that most ephemeral of moments -
the Special Occasion.

And what is life but the road between the milestones of special
occasions? The first day of your career, 21st birthday, marriage (or
partnership), travelling overseas, capping ceremony, moving house,
parties (& New Years), dinners, funerals. Aren't these the lynchpins
of our memories?

And memorable though New Year parties are what could be more of
a special occasion than an End of Millenium party organised by Alcor
for Alcor members and visitors? And a group photo unlike all other
group photos taken around the world that night - of people who plan
to be around to see the *next* millenuim (and meet agin on that
occasion?!).

And why not 31st December 1999 ?. I know its not technically the last
day of the century but it will *feel* like it and everyone will act
like it is.

Only seven years away - and counting down...

--- A.J. Clifford, Alcor (UK).
