X-Message-Number: 15255 From: Date: Thu, 4 Jan 2001 14:51:20 EST Subject: all gall A small addendum to my earlier post today: All gall (Platt's gall) is divided into two parts. (Apologies to G.J. Caesar.) The smaller part is a lame attempted defense of Alcor's exaggerated claims for its current "vitrification" procedure. The larger part is an unusually odoriferous red herring, accusations against CI and me personally, citing old baloney and trying to divert attention from the issues I have recently raised. Ad hominem stuff pure and simple. In the main, I see no need to slice up his old baloney again. It is adequately dealt with on our web site, for anyone who cares to pay attention. Make up your own mind. As to the state of vitrification, my posts on this will continue for a while, because I believe there is a need for it. And feedback from more typical readers could help me understand the impressions of regular people and what needs further clarification. Finally, as usual--I am not attacking research or researchers or Alcor, except insofar as Fred Chamberlain's recent claims for Alcor's current procedures are overblown.
