Subject: Message Length

What a pity that David Pascal's personal attack (at least, it sounded like
a personal attack, to judge from its title) was rejected by the CryoNet
system today. David is always so well informed, and has such a clear grasp
of the issues.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for brevity. In fact I
wonder if CryoNet might become more interesting if the maximum message
length was reduced from 40,000 bytes to, say, 4,000. This would be a
potent antidote to turgid waffle (which of course is rare, but has
actually been seen here occasionally) and would reduce the irritation that
some people complain about, when reading material that they disagree with.

Kevin?
