Consider, instead, a language more like orchestral music.  In 
such a language, I could (for example) convey my argument, my
level of confidence in it, my emotional response (with all its
nuances) to it, my openness to discourse on it, and when,
where, and how such discourse would take place, all in a 
single "symphonic measure".  Someday our brains will be capable
of deciphering the dialectic content of all those communication 
streams in parallel much as a composer can decipher a musical
score.
