Subject: Jiff Grimes--Chill Out...

Jeff:

I understand that some of the people posting on, and reading from, this site
have been involved with cryonics for decades. If it could be said that
"experts" in cryonics exist, they are likely well represented here, and
certainly so regarding the organizations discussed. Rest assured there will
continue to be differences of opinion on most all facets of cryonics from
theory, research, analysis and concusions/interpretations, to the most
appropriate means and form of cryonics presentations to the public , etc.,
etc.

Actually there is nothing wrong with a little rivalry--which shows up from
time to time. It appears in every organization and between every
organization involved in similar interests--including monasteries, I've
heard. Even particularly heated discussions are good for clarifying
issues--and even help with the ones that are presently unclarifiable. One can
write-off unwarranted name calling as conceding the particular argument du
jour (du week). A downside to being too quick to judgment can be a
premature, artificial self-committal to a particular position which may not
completely fit later on. If one is self disciplined enough to accurately self
diagnose and recover, no problem.

Contrary to your apparent observations, I have found Robert Ettinger to be
particularly forthcoming in his entire approach to cryonics. And as I
previously stated, I applaud his efforts to air common concerns to "the
cause." He given much "airtime" to other organizations including in The
Immortalist publication, and has maintained a mutually beneficial
relationship with many, most or all of the other cryonics organizations.

Regards,

David C. Johnson
