Subject: thanks for life insurance information

Thanks for all of the information about the life insurance companies,
including the explicit list of the CI payers from Professor Ettinger
and the links John de Rivaz supplied (which cover lots of related
topics).

Thanks also for the thoughts provided by Driven FromThePack.

His (??) ideas have lots of implications but i realize that
what i wrote about the HIV positive patient was misleading.

What i meant to say was that if an insurance company denies payment
for any reason, including reasons which may seem justified, great
caution should be used in dealing with that company. In the HIV+
case, they should have tested so that there would be no surprises, i
think. I obtained an insurance policy recently, and i was tested (not
just for HIV, but for excess cholesterol), so i'm assuming that such
testing is legal.

Of course the problem of cryonics for the uninsurable (because of HIV
or any other reason) and the indigent is a big problem, and i wish it
were bigger (i.e., that people realized what they were missing). But
the scope of the problem can be reduced to some extent if the price
can be contained (to the extent possible consistent with a reasonable
hope for revival, of course).
