Subject: Brightman and Brilliant

There is a relatively new web site,

http://www.longevityforus.org

by Ira Brightman, apparently a struggling writer aspiring to a career in life
extension. He is looking for the usual--help and money.

Good name, anyway. Reminds us of Ashleigh Brilliant.

Everybody and his uncle wants to start a new organization or company, and no
one can prejudge the value of the effort. But the history of cryonics and
immortalism does not suggest that we need more organizations or companies,
unless they are better-led or better-financed than existing ones. Seriously,
it is important not to waste energy or risk burnout by becoming another small
competitor.

At the same time, it is a probably a good sign when more people start to jump
on the bandwagon. That suggests that there is a bandwagon. There were scads
of auto companies in the early days of automobiles, too. Most of the
companies disappeared, but autos grew.
