Honest self-evaluations are definitely called for. To do it right, though,
takes a *lot* of careful work, which means that time, personnel, and other
resources have to be allocated. (An enormous amount of detail, for instance,
is involved in documenting what went on in a suspension, whether for good or
ill. It takes time to collect this data, and more time to incorporate it
into a report. Then you have to decide if certain details of the report
should be disguised for reasons of confidentiality, such as name of the
patient, names of hospitals and useful individuals, and so on. Of course to
disguise anything already invites charges of "fraud," "deception," and the
like, so you have to proceed with caution and consider tradeoffs, however
upright your intentions may be. To proceed with caution means it will
probably take more time, which once more invites suspicion; the list goes
on.) Without going into details (though some of these should be forthcoming,
not necessarily from me) I can tell you that work is going on to provide
objective disclosures and self-evaluations. Unfortunately, that won't
satisfy the inquirer who wants answers *now* but at least it is something to
expect in the future, and hopefully soon.
