X-Message-Number: 1562 Date: 09 Jan 93 01:18:31 EST From: Saul Kent <> Subject: CRYONICS: Reply To Keith Henson Keith Henson suggests that my ideas are a threat to Alcor and might be a greater threat in the future. He mentions two examples of ideas of mine that he believes to be a threat to Alcor: splitting off Alcor's responsibility for patient care to another, separate organization; and "politicizing" Alcor's Board. (By "politicizing", I assume Keith means allowing some degree of democracy in the election of The Board.) Neither of these ideas are "mine". The idea of a separate patient care organization is Mark Voelker's. The idea of allowing some degree of democracy in Alcor was suggested by a number of others including President elect Steve Bridge long before I said anything about it. What I find disturbing is Keith's notion that my (or anyone else's) "ideas" are a threat to Alcor. On the contrary, I believe that the open expression of ideas is critically important for Alcor's success. I have two additional questions for Keith: 1. Do you know of anyone else on The Alcor Board who believes that my continued active involvement in Alcor is a threat to the organization? 2. Do you know of any other Alcor member who believes that my continued active involvement in Alcor is a threat to the organization? Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=1562
