X-Message-Number: 15756 From: Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 10:37:38 EST Subject: Grimes quickies A few quick small points possibly worth mentioning in re Grimes' latest: Ice blockers: These are only useful in the vitrification context, as privately confirmed by an Alcor consultant. Even so, as I said, we have several different kinds scheduled for testing down the line. Toxicity of vitrification CPAs: Grimes took one segment, formerly on our web site, that was intended by the writer as part of historical perspective. After a private communication indicated that it could have been unintentionally misleading, it was deleted or changed. Toxicity etc.: Grimes has misrepresented the record, although I won't bother to retrieve all the statements. The INC people themselves disagreed with each other in public, or appeared to do so through wording that wasn't quite careful enough. No big deal. Nothing I have said was wrong in any important respect. If Grimes wants to persist in this kind of stuff, fine. I have lots more material not yet used. P.R. etc.: We have never, to my knowledge, treated Alcor or anyone else unfairly, and in fact have almost always been on the more generous side. As just one example, as I have mentioned before, our site has links to all the others, but Alcor's does not have links to ours, last I looked. In addition, Alcor's has remarks that could easily be interpreted to mean that CI is "unethical" because its prices are too low. Maybe more about this another time. On the other hand, there have been many instances of cooperation, going both ways, and we hope this will dominate the future.
