Thanks, I rarely read scifi.  I think author in that domain  never invent 
anything interesting of their own. At best they pick up valuable ideas in the 
science domain. So I look at scientists when I search for inovative concepts 
The one about time estimate in the 10^18 years range comes from a paper on 
the arxiv server astro-ph: A dying Universe. If sci fi writers have no good 
ideas by themselve, they can neverthless popularize such ideas.
