By: David Pizer Charles Platt posted the following message >From: Charles Platt <> >Subject: The British Situation >I have resubscribed to CryoNet to raise an issue that has not roused much >interest, so far as I can tell from the archives at cryonet.org. >As I understand it (and I am willing to be corrected, since not all of my >information is first-hand) twenty-five British cryonicists were deprived >of their Alcor coverage earlier this year because they did not have >American life insurance. snip >Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this one of the most bizarre decisions >in the entire history of cryonics? >--Charles Platt YOU ARE WRONG! IN MANY WAYS! I am not a defender of contemporary Alcor. I dissagree with some of the ways they are managing their business plan. I do not know any of the facts that Charles talked about in his post. But, just by reading the way the post was written, I got the impression that Charles was misrepresenting the facts. Since I assume Charles will be a supported of Kryos, I view this as an intention to begin a campaign of negative stuff about the existing organizations. Since you asked, Charles = Please stop this now, Charles. You will not help Kryos in anyway with this slanted writing. If there are Alcor-problems in the UK, your "type of" posting about them will not help the situation. If Alcor really does have problems with their ability to deliver good standbys far away, then they are being honest about it. Your post tries to make them look dishonest and stupid, and uncaring. If Alcor really has told the far-away members they are cut off, as you implied, then you telling them again they are cut off will help you or them any more than what has already happened. If they ARE cut off, they will joing your orgainization. If they are not cut off, your telling them they are, will not help you or them. There are many of us "out here" that really want to see Kryos do well. If Kryos enters the arena with positive posts, like the ones Darwin has presented that inform us about problems and positive information, then I think they will find a supportive audience. If your recent post is an example of what we are to expect, then I think Kryos will have (create for itself) a hard roe to hoe. I do not want to argue this with you. I can stand in the arena and pitch shit with the best of them. But no one wins a shit throwing contest. So lets end it all here. You can take what I am saying as truth and with good intentions, or you can disagree - but I don't want to further the lastingness of your post by discussion this further. I hope you can realize that the cryonics community does not want, and will not tolerate another war of distortions and negative posting etc. Kryos has a window of opportunity to become a great company on its own positive merits, please do not damage that opportunity with more posts like this last one.
