X-Message-Number: 16288 Date: Tue, 15 May 2001 14:55:26 -0400 (EDT) From: Charles Platt <> Subject: TV show followup In my post two days ago I mentioned a production company that wants to make a 5-minute news item about cryonics, for syndication to many TV stations across the United States. For TV, you really need pictures of hardware in addition to talking heads. Since the hardware at Trans-Time is uninhabited right now, and since Alcor refused to participate in any TV show where I would be involved (for reasons that remain totally mysterious to me), the only other place the TV people could go was CI. This is exactly what they decided to do. The irony here is that I would much prefer to promote Alcor than CI, because I find Alcor's protocol more credible. But, Alcor loses the exposure, CI gains the exposure, and I end up implicitly helping to promote an organization which I don't think offers very good service.
