I would hope that anyone in the future, looking at Cryonet 
postings, might conclude that we cared so very much about 
staying alive, it caused a lot of strong feelings. I would 
also note that "Joe Sixpack" (to use your phrase) would have 
resorted to physical violence long ago. Here, at least, we 
are civilized enough to disagree with words alone. 

I have a question, however. Are you commenting on the style 
of the debate, or the content? It may be fair comment to 
suggest that the style of one person is not much different 
from the style of another. But I am not sure it is fair to 
say that the content of the postings is interchangable. It is 
my impression, for instance, that the use of facts to support 
argument, or the use of innuendo to suggest wrongdoing, is 
not consistent from one person to the next. These differences 
seem more important to me than the similarity of style 
(though I agree it would be nice to see some stylistic 
restraint).
