Or cremation? Yesterday I hooked up my satellite dish receiver to my television set. I could not get a picture but I could hear the sound. I rewired, reconfigured, fumed and fussed. The bottom line was that I finally decided that the video output of the receiver must be somehow broken. Then my friend walked into the room and asked if I had put one particular plug into a particular hole. I did it and the picture was there. If memory is not stored in the brain but is accessed by the brain, just as my television accesses the signal from the dish, then properly repairing the brain will restore memory access. We can assume that the memory is "destroyed" if the brain is damaged but we really still don't know where memory "resides". At this point we don't know if the brain is a storage unit or a radio receiver or both. This is just one of many fabulous puzzles it will be delightful to solve over the next few centuries. See you there! -George Smith CI member Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=16511
