X-Message-Number: 16531 Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2001 22:51:22 +0000 () From: Louis Epstein <> Subject: Spedding and Farris-Luse Latest noted person to join the ranks of the deceased is Sir David Spedding, born March 7th 1943.He headed the British intelligence service MI6 from 1994 to 1999, previous to which he was supposedly a diplomat. Still senior among the living is Maud Farris Luse, who I affirm was born January 21st 1887,I have seen the documentation supplied by her family and it appears authentic.Guinness appears to have gotten some press recognizing oldest-Briton Amy Hulmes (October 5th 1887),who is a loyal Guinness drinker, as world's oldest, but I expect they will yield once they see the Farris-Luse documentation I have told them of and which is on its way. She saw her first automobile when she was 16, the year she married a man who worked in the livery stable of a hotel where she worked. She is,from what I've been told, older than anyone ever placed in cryosuspension. A child born today who reached her present age would make it to November 2115...by which time such an age could seem trivial...of course anyone reading this and alive then would be older, and I expect that with one lurking exception we'd all like to do that. The singularitarians would have 2115 be impermeably unknowable to us,but I hope it's more like optimistic science fiction of years past would have it,with colonies of recognizable humans spreading through the solar system. What do you predict for 2115? Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=16531
