Subject: Sexual Orientation Not as Important as Life

I don't think that it helps your cause, or any cause, to
exaggerate. If someone tried to cure me of my sexual orientation,
or behavior, I would consider it an assault, and compare it
---in terms of gravity---to being imprisoned by them for some years.
But murder? Cessation of life? This is probably the wrong forum
to press such a claim.

I sincerely hope that you are not so completely identifying
with your sexual orientation that change is regarded as death.
Of course, I entirely agree that homophobia is to be severely
criticized by people with good taste.

>Bigots can tie me to a fence and pistol whip me into a
>coma, as they did Matthew Shepard, but they can never
>make me other than I am unless they kill me.

Brave words. But probably untrue. Who knows? Something
might be found even tomorrow morning---a consequence of the
Human Genome project---that would permit someone, if only
they got control of you for long enough to administer the
treatment, to alter almost anything about you.

As always, we have a great deal to fear from people who
would usurp our liberty and self-determination "with the
best of intentions".
