Well, it was real, but it isn't anymore... That was ADSX's first plan (see 
http://www.applelinks.com/articles/1999/12/19991221130703.shtml ) , but due to 
the religious opposition, FDA delays, etc, they've switched from implants to 
"wearable devices" (see http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,s2083914,00.html ) . 
There's information on their planned products at http://www.digitalangel.net/da/
; the devices are said to "advise subscribers of precise geographical location 
and biological and other sensory data on a real-time basis", so they could still
be useful for monitoring cryonics patients.
