X-Message-Number: 16610 From: Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 16:47:29 EDT Subject: death-bed cryonics DLG agains raises the question of making cryonics available to those who find themselves (or relatives) dying without previous arrangements. CI does in fact make a special effort to accomodate emergency cases. In the nature of things, usually it is not possible to get the logistics, documentation, and funding lined up in time--but we always try, and occasionally succeed. We urge prospective members very strongly not to delay, but also to get in touch with us promptly if an unprepared emergency does occur. (But not for already-buried people, please; we don't accept disinterred bodies under any circumstances.) As for making the availability of our services better known, and in future getting more active cooperation from hospitals and physicians, this will probably just have to develop in a natural way as we grow and improve our contacts.
