I refer you to what I just posted in a separate e-mail.
If you want something kept private you should:

a) Ask that the recipent sign a confidentiality agreement, before mailing
out the object you want to keep secret, and not mailo it out until you have
got such a signed agreement.
I have a long standing and iron hard policy of never signing confidentiality
agreements.

b) Mark the letter as confidential, so that misunderstandings can be avoided
e.g. most private letters I receive on cryonics issues, are clearly not
meant to be kept confidential and those that are meant to be confidential
are usually marked as such.
I usually respect such requests not because I have to but out of common
courtesy,
unless some more important priority overrides the confidentiality request.
I am a stound supporter of the 1st amendment, freedom of speech.

c) Mark your letters as copyrighted and state what audience or publishing
that you permit.
But be aware that copyright laws permit widespread quoting.

I once again thank you for the eloquent letters you wrote on Elizabeth's
situation.
And hope that you won't hold any grudges, there are already too many such in
cryonics circles.
One can't always please everyone, one can't even please any one person all
the time,
that is not even the goal.

Put hopefully I will every so often do something else, that I see as right
and that you see some value in.

Sincerely,

Trygve Bauge
