Unfortunately, we have no legal leverage and little practical control over it, aside from using e-mail filters (which are easily circumvented by spammers who create new e-mail accounts all the time). One action that I do take is to examine the header information showing how the junk e-mail was routed. It is often possible with the less adept junk e-mailers to ascertain their true home domain and then to notify the domain's administrator about abuse of his/her system. For more information and tools for tracing an IP address to a domain name and admin e-mail address, go to UXN Spam Combat at: http://combat.uxn.com/ Regards, Michael LaTorra Member: Extropy Institute: www.extropy.org Alcor Life Extension Foundation: www.alcor.org Society for Technical Communication: www.stc.org Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=17119
