Subject: Massively parallel computer for nanotech/cryonics?

Hello, Dear cantankerous cryoneters,
Rudi here.

I have tried on two occasions to sign up my unused computer time for the
benefit of the "Computer Dream Team" through Nanotechnology Magazine (an
e-zine produced in Hawaii with nanotech articles.)

nanotechnologymagazine.com

We now have a Pentium 4 ,1.5 gigahertz machine, as well as a P3 400mhzt I am
typing this on. And we recently got broadband connection with Road Runner.
An absolutely WONDERFUL service!

So perhaps the technology is now available for us to volunteer our unused
computer run time to help in developing a MONSTER multinode parallel
supercomputer.

Anyway, it was my understanding that we could volunteer our computer time to
assist in the designing of the first nanocomputer.

Anyone know anything about this, or have experience with such computer
sharing? I would be hesitant to do this if it involved downside risk of
viruses or hassles with my computers, as they are "mission critical" to my
practice.

Thanks in advance, and excuse the somewhat off topic thread.
Although IMO it is more relevant to cryonics than many postings here. :)

Someday perhaps we will all look back on these pioneering years in cryonics
fondly. People will say, "Man, wouldn't it have been cool to be involved
with this thing when NOBODY had proved it could work and ALMOST nobody
believed it would!"

"You guys must have been real VISIONARIES!"

To a sense of history.

Fondly,
