Unlike Alvin, I make no claim to be a unique. As to the recent

Well, Cryonet junkies, it's none other than the irrepressible Fred Rogers.
You've never heard of him, have you? No, he's not one of our members,
though I'd certainly welcome him into the fold. But his face is known to
millions of folks throughout the world,

I have very fond memories of watching his show as a child. And also when I
was basically grown up... lol! In his low-key way he taught me a lot of
lessons about life. My friends would make fun of him, but I knew Fred
Rogers was a great example for kids and adults.

My mother and I were shocked when "concerned" parents spoke out against Mr.
Rogers because he supposedly promoted fantasy, and even perhaps satanism.
So, to placate these folks Fred Rogers had a special show where he showed
the reality behind the "magic" of the show. I wish Rogers instead had a
show explaining to children the meaning of the word, "idiot."

he continues:
I even met Mr. Rogers on one occasion, in 1984. It was indeed a
thrill. In fact, I d place this scintillating happenstance right up there
amongst my having conversed with the likes of Ronald Reagan, Zubin Metha,
Paul Simon, David Crosby, Hubert Humphrey, Jack Nicklaus, Bella Abzug, and
Bob Ettinger.

The singular, (sorry Vernor), most profound pearl I gleaned from the
loquacious Mr. Rogers was likewise one of his most repetitious, and well it
should have been. My TV hero would look me straight in the eye, and say,
Remember, there's nobody just like you! Cryonetters, I rest my case.
(end)

Meeting Mr. Rogers would be such an honor! Perhaps one day he will come up
to Anchorage to speak. I bet there would be a long line of people afterward
wanting the same opportunity you had.

I like his famous saying. I do think that in some cases it's a good thing
there is nobody else like a particular person! But, whatever our station in
life, we each do have something unique to contribute.

I hope Dr. Jerry Lemler decides to take the helm of Alcor. But, only if it
is the right thing for him and his family.

Mr. Rogers would know the right thing to say here. :)

best wishes,

John
