Although we don t normally do this sort of thing, Chrissie and I are sending $100 each to the fund. We feel that on the basis of there being slightly under a thousand people in the world signed up for cryopreservation, if each person were persuaded to give $100 then the target should easily be met three times over, not even allowing for existing pledges. Those who have money beyond the normal needs of living usually fall into one of two categories: 1. They are capable of making more of it faster than they can spend it. 2. They do not spend it or give it away lightly Because it is nearly impossible to introduce people in the first category (such as industrialists or successful entertainers) to cryonics, those already in the movement either have little money or are in the second category. However this project, provided it remains unique, could bring substantial benefits to the movement as a whole as well as the individual concerned. Therefore we urge people in the second category, as we are ourselves, to follow our example in supporting the fund. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://www.deRivaz.com my homepage links to Longevity Report, Fractal Report, music, Inventors' report, an autobio and various other projects: http://www.geocities.com/longevityrpt http://www.autopsychoice.com - http://www.cryonics-europe.org - http://www.porthtowan.com Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=17387
