An article "Cryonics Suffers From Freezer Burn" by Davis Lazarus of the San
Francisco Chronicle appeared in the Aug. 26, 2001, edition of The Arizona
Republic. It described the shutting down of all cryonics companies in
California. There are now only a few frozen pets (!) in California, no people.

Lazarus (appropriate name) stated "Cryonicists, as they prefer to be called,
routinely savage one another on an Internet message board at www.cryonics.org
that serves as a jagged window on an increasingly disharmonious community."

I read this article with some dismay. I want cryonics to work but as an
engineer and a physicist I have already seen much to make me skeptical.

Cryonics is going to die unless it achieves scientific respectability which it
currently does not have.
